Beat the Blues

Beat the Blues, Western’s annual Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)/Depression screening event will be held on Wednesday, January 10th from 11:00 to 2:00 PM in VU 565. Given the limited number of daylight hours during our PNW winters, many of us may experience the “Winter Blues” or SAD.

Beat the Blues attendees can receive a free SAD/Depression screening and a follow-up consultation with a counselor. In addition to screenings, attendees can sign-up for 15-minute massages, pet therapy dogs, engage in art therapy, and learn more about campus resources. The event is free to attend and students, staff, and faculty are all invited!

Beat the Blues is hosted by the WWU Counseling Center, Suicide Prevention Program, Men's Resiliency, and the AS Disability Outreach Center.

Students who want to set up an appointment with a counselor can contact the WWU Counseling Center at (360) 650-3164, select option 1 for help after-hours.
